About Caro d'Offay Gallery

Previously called Audio April, this concept began as a series of events focused within the month of Aprill, to promote dialogue between sound-artists and current exhibits. The events could not be confined to one time period and so the decision was made to rename: Audivate Audio Events is the result.

Sound, an invisible medium, capable of altering the physical world through frequency, vibration and emotion, is the key ingredient in these weekend events taking place year 'round but predominantly during the month of April.

Sound artists are invited to collaborate with the architecture of the gallery and the exhibited works, while never touching or physically altering the physical space.

Welcoming the examination of the gallery, of the exhibits and even curatorial choices, these sound-based events call to our attention, the power (even if arbitrary) for meaning to manifest from association.

Sometimes gentle, sometimes disruptive and violating, whatever the result, the observer is asked to llisten and look according to the perspective of sound under the guidance of the featured sound-artist.
