LUMETYPE PRINTMAKING

“I came at this process as a painter and found that the light emitting paint behaved interestingly and beautifully. Layering and brushwork translated in surprising ways to the prints. What I found more challenging was creating line. I set this as my challenge and worked diligently at it for several months with mixed results. Ultimately the most economical of means worked best. My prints displayed here were done with a pen and a nib and thin light emitting paint. I love the soft quality of the line. It’s reminiscent of graphine, charcoal or even thread. Looking around the room and having experienced a ton of different outcomes myself, I am certain this process has a million and one possibilities. There is life and excitement in the potentiality of the Lumetype.”
